Apparel powered by science.

This material’s potential extended far beyond the medical field: We envisioned clothing that wouldn't just look good, but would perform exceptionally and be kinder to the environment. Our founders had been invovled in various ways in research, conferences and more generally on the growing prevalence of microplastics in fish and even in humans, including their effects in cardiovascular risk factors. Researchers have estimated that there are more than 14 million tonnes of microplastics just on our ocean floors. Fashion and textiles is one of the largest culprits contributing to this problem, with tiny microfibres less than 5 millimetres in size being released by the thousands with every wash of our garments.

Not just shirts and trousers, but garments woven with the power of science. This is what Nanoloom’s founders sought to achieve in pioneering a new era in textiles using materials born from groundbreaking medical research.

Our story begins with a commitment to innovation. Driven by a desire to solve real-world problems, a revolutionary material for wound healing and nerve regeneration is now being applied to textile applications.

The impetus behind Nanoloom’s founding was to apply the biodegradable, recyclable and non-toxic material it’s co-founder had developed for medical application to the problem of microplastic pollution in the environment, and this is why apparel is where we are taking the innovation first.

Nanoloom’s materials offer the potential for exceptional strength, stretch, durability and moisture management, making it applicable to many different industries and, within apparel itself, many different applications. It also has smart properties like shape memory, and in future will be harnessed for smarter clothes that adapt to your body.

We recognise that it’s extremely difficult to get the market to shift to real solutions like new materials. That’s why it’s been developed into yarns with a view to making it as easily adoptable by industry as possible.

What makes us different is our material's performance, ease of scalability and that it can price compete with traditional materials. These three factors are what we believe will really drive adoption of a cleaner material.

Nanoloom is more than just clothing. It's a statement about a future where innovation meets responsibility. Join the movement and experience the difference for yourself. Explore a world where science fuels style, and sustainability becomes the new standard.
